'DO KNOT DISTURB'- Film music is launched now!

A year after he was last seen in a lead role, Riteish Deshmukh is now all set to wear the hero’s cap again. The film in question is DO KNOT DISTURB which is now all set for a 2nd October release. His last major release was DE TAALI but that was a delayed project. Between DE TAALI and DO KNOT DISTURB, he also did bit roles in CHAMKU and KAL KISSNE DEKHA which was mainly to help out friends.

He is happy now that DO KNOT DISTURB is treading the right path as far as enthusiasm amongst the paying public is concerned.

"Thankfully, the reactions that we have got so far are quite positive", says Ritiesh from Europe where he is currently shooting for Sajid Khan’s HOUSEFULL, "Today, promos are so important to set the tone right for a film. This was especially important for DO KNOT DISTURB since there are certain things about the film that we wanted audiences to know now and some other things that had to be revealed only in theaters."

He isn’t willing to reveal much about the film’s ’hidden part’ but does maintain that it was quite tricky to cut the promos.

"David-ji (Dhawan) was convinced though that this is the right promo for the film. He knew that audiences would get excited about the premise of the film and meanwhile also wonder ki yaar yeh ho kya raha hai. I guess with the kind of feedback coming our way, the team has indeed succeeded in conveying that impression", says Riteish.

A multi starrer with Govinda heading the cast along with Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta, Sohail Khan and Ranvir Shorey along with Rajpal Yadav, Himani Shivpuri, Rituparna Sengupta and Manoj Pahwa, DO KNOT DISTURB has music by Nadeem-Shravan and is a Vashu Bhagnani production.

Shah Rukh Khan has been offered a lawyer’s role - 'Subhash Kapoor'!

Our Baadshah is going to wear the lawyer coat now! Shah Rukh Khan has been offered a lawyer’s role in Subhash Kapoor’s movie, titled ‘Jolly LLB’. SRK has worn various kinds of characters before and this is the first time that he will attempt a lawyer’s role!

About the project, the director-writer said to sources, “The film will take on the pros and cons of the judicial system. When we first had an appointment with SRK, he had given us about 45 minutes for the narration. However, we ended up discussing the film for over two hours. He took to the film in the first 20 minutes itself. He loved the film immensely. The film’s producer Rakesh Upadhyay is finalising the other details.”

‘Jolly LLB’ is expected to be produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Rakesh Upadhyay. As of now, talks are still going on the project and there would be formal announcement from the production house. After that putting everything in place the movie will go on floors next year.

Earlier, Subhash Kapoor had given a movie titled ‘Say Salaam India’ that had Sanjay Suri, Vinay Pathak and Sandhya Mrudul. But the movie unfortunately failed to create an impression. Now let’s see whether the director will hit the target with our King Khan!

Sanjay Dutt spent a time for Health works in the Gym at Thane!

Munnabhai aka Sanju baba aka Sanjay Dutt dropped a bombshell on Saturday when at a very select press meet at the Healthworks Gym at Thane, he said that he was considering launching a series of fitness clubs and gyms along with ‘good friend’ and fitness freak Prabodh Davkhare.

Sanjay even went steps ahead and said that if Prabhod Davkhare found it right, he would love to be the brand ambassador for the brand of gyms and fitness clubs. ‘Prabodh Davkhare is a good friend and I have always told him to push his efforts even further. I would love to be the brand ambassasdor of his gyms if Prabodh finds me suitable for the job,” said Sanju baba modestly.

Prabodh Davkhare runs one of the most modern and sophisticated fitness clubs and gyms in Thane called Healthworks gym. While going through the gym, Sanjay Dutt worked out for about ten minutes on the thread mill, the weights machine and even pushed some iron.

Sources close to Prabodh Davkhare said that Sanju baba is very keen on the fitness business and the two of them have been contemplating starting a chain of fitness clubs for some time. Confirming this, Prabodh Davkhare said, ‘I would love to have Sanjay Dutt to advise my gym members and clients. Sanjay Dutt is one of the fittest Bollywood stars and is the epitome of health in the country. He has maintained his physique in spite of several ups and downs in his life. For Sanju fitness comes first.”

Munnabhai aka Sanju baba aka Sanjay Dutt spent almost two hours at the Healthworks Gym at Thane on the outskirts of Mumbai along with promoter Probodh Davkhare on Saturday.

Munnabhai exercised, lifted weights, pressed some iron and even watched a demonstration of Karate along with about 200 excited fitness freaks from the area. He shared tips with the staff and even demonstrated certain correct methods of lifting weights, pressing iron etc.

Sanju baba and Prabodh Davkhare later on addressed a press conference where Sanjay Dutt answered about 50 to 100 questions from the audience regarding health, fitness, right diet etc. There were about 200 fitness enthusiasts present at the venue while a crowd of about 2000 persons gathered out the Healthworks Gym to get a glimpse of their favourite superstar.

Speaking at the Press Conference, Prabhodh Davkhare praised and thanked Sanju Baba for taking time out of his busy schedule to encourage and support the youngsters. “Sanjay Dutt has been a great source of help and encouragement both personally and for the entire staff at Healthworks India, and I thank him on behalf of every member and employee at Healthworks India,” said Prabodh Davkhare.

Sanjay Dutt also praised Prabodh Davkhare for his efforts to popularise the idea and concept of fitness.

Not too long ago, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan also visited the Healthworks Gym and spent almost an hour with the crowd. Other stars who were present included Zulfi Sayed and many other lesser known Bollywood personalities.

Both the former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and the current CM have visited the Healthworks Gym and encouraged Prabodh Davkhare and his team to spread the message of fitness across the city.
Healthworks India and Prabodh Davkhare have announced several special schemes for Government Employees, Police Officials and even students who can get maximum benefit from them and stay fit and healthy.

Riya Sen is currently busy shooting for her next untitled supernatural thriller at Shimla!

Filled with loads of good films in her kitty Riya Sen is all set to hit back with a bang. This sexy siren is very excited about her cameo, yet a pivotal role, in her forthcoming release Love Khichdi. Giving an insight about her character she explains, “I am playing the next door school girl, who is the only one Randeep does not have an eye on, among the eight girls featured in the film.”

Riya is currently busy shooting for her next untitled supernatural thriller at Shimla. Debutant director Tariqh, under Sunil Bhagat’s production banner is directing the film. Ashutosh Rana , Yashpal Sharma and Milind Gulati have been roped in the film.

However, a newcomer named Eddy has been signed in the lead role opposite Riya. Without divulging many details Riya signs off excitedly, “I am also doing a film titled Benny and Babloo.”

Priyanka Chopra plays the character of a village girl!

The beautiful Priyanka Chopra is ready with her upcoming Ashutosh Gowarikar film Whats your Raashee. The actress has got all 12 roles to play for all the zodiac signs.

Priyanka plays the character of a village girl, just 15 years. This role is for the zodiac sign Capricorn.

The excited Priyanka quips, “I have worked so hard in this film. Mera khoon pasina behgaya hai iss movie mein. Playing 12 different characters was the most challenging thing for me; it’s the first time something like this has ever been done. I just hope people like my work in the film.”

She adds “Jhankhana, Capricorn was the toughest character yet, to play a 15 year old girl on top of that a village simpleton was mind racking. We didn’t have any prosthetics and it was only my hair, clothes and body language that helped me mould myself into Jhankhana.”

She says, “Thankfully Ashutosh Sir was very helpful and gave me some useful pointers, so I think it worked out just fine.”

Abhishek Bachchan will have two flims with the Jay Dixit!

Buzz has it that Aditya Chopra may direct Dhoom 3; ropes in Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan…

Reclusive director Aditya Chopra, who is perfectly content to oversee and remote control the YRF empire while leaving the actual direction of the films to someone else, is now excited at the possibility of Dhoom 3, especially if his wish list of actors is satisfied.

Reportedly Shah Rukh Khan, who can never say no to Adi, has consented to be part of the film. An equally important role has been offered to Hrithik Roshan. Hrithik who is fastidious to a fault sometimes, is supposed to be mulling over the offer, even as he stays busy with his home production Kites and his new film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Guzaarish.

Abhishek Bachchan will of course reprise the Jay Dixit of the earlier two films and Uday Chopra will continue to play the lovable Ali who woos all the pretty girls.

But the icing on the very crowded cake will be that Aditya Chopra will direct the film. But, and this is a big but, only if all the said actors are in place.

But then, has anyone been known to refuse Adi? We think not.

Priyanka Chopra was essays the character of Jhankana-'WHAT'S YOUR RASHEE'!

Yes we are talking about our very own Priyanka Chopra aka Piggy Chops and her much in news upcoming film WHAT’S YOUR RASHEE? It’s a known fact that she is essaying 12 different characters, as per the 12 different zodiac signs, but apparently, and very strangely, one of them bears a striking similarity to the character of Anandi from the popular telly soap Balika Vadhu!

In one of the roles Priyanka essays the character of Jhankana, who is a naive village girl and a victim of child marriage. Priyanka is donning a village girl look, complete with two pigtails and a sari with dark makeup.

Though we are not implying that the look of Priyanka is an absolute copy of Balika Vadhu’s Anandi, but the striking similarities-like pigtails and rajasthani pallu and bandhani ghagra do lay a heavy suspicion on the ’inspiration’ behind the pigtails of Piggy Chops!

And oh! Did we mention even poor-poor Jhankana, is a victim of child marriage, just like Anandi! Coincident? We don’t think so!

Looks like director Ashutosh was pretty much influenced by character Anandi’s portrayal in Balika Vadhu and therefore decided to use it as one of the part in his film WHAT’S YOUR RASHEE?

Aparna Sen was choseing a Kajol, as her father was a Bengali-language!

It’s a honor to work with ace filmmaker Aparna Sen but recently Kajol has turned down her offer as the script failed to impress her. The film titled ‘Iti Mrinalini’ and it is supposedly based on Aparna Sen’s real life. Kajol has been decided to play the younger Aparna Sen while Aparna herself to play the ageing actress but surprisingly Kajol rejected the offer.

Aparna chose Kajol as her father was a Bengali and the language is known to her. The source says, "After chasing the young actress for some months to hear a narration, she got a date from her but fifteen minutes into the narration, Kajol excused herself and walked out. After waiting for an half-an-hour, Aparna realised that she was not coming back and left the Devgan residence, smarting with humiliation. Now she has cast her daughter Konkona in the role. A few years ago, Aparna was to direct Kajol’s husband Ajay Devgan in PNC’s Gulel but that project fell through even though Ajay had liked the script".

Aparna Sen rubbishes the rumor saying, "Absolute rubbish! I never even thought of Kajol for Iti Mrinalini which is a small budget Bengali film where Konkona and I were always supposed to be playing the younger and older age of the same person. Kajol was never even considered! I have never met her."

However, Kajol’s spokesman denies the meeting.

The performances was bonding well on TV show-three Judges!

Rani Mukherjee will be back on silver screen with ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ after a long time, her last being ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’. She has taken special efforts in getting a toned body and flaunting it in a bikini. Nevertheless, she is taking keen interest in promoting the film along with her co-star Shahid Kapoor who is on a high these days post his success of ‘Kaminey’.

The duo was seen as special guests on the grand finale of the reality show ‘India’s Got Talent’ on 22nd August on Colors. Shahid awarded the trophy to The Prince Dance group who was declared the winner of this reality show after several relatives and friends of the group, apart from state Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, corporate houses and social activists joined hands to vote en masse for them. They got a staggering Rs.50 lakhs (Rs.5 million) in cash and a swish newly-launched Maruti Suzuki Ritz car as the reward. The group, comprising 26 artistes, all below 22 years of age, spellbound everyone with their act, which was based on episodes from the Mahabharata.

The episode saw Shahid and Rani enjoying the performances and bonding well with the judges Sonali Bendre, Kirron Kher and filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor.

Ayesha Kapoor is plays protagonist Parzaan Dastur’s with best friend- Nasreen!

She earned rave reviews for her performance as a blind and deaf girl in the critically acclaimed “Black”, but 14-year-old Ayesha Kapoor says she wasn’t able to relate to her character of a conservative Kashmiri girl in her latest film “Sikandar”.

“It was hard for me to relate to my character in the film since I’m a completely different in real life. Nasreen, my character, is conservative. That’s the opposite of me,” says Ayesha.

“From a very young age, I have lived in an international community. My friends are from all over the world. I get to meet people from different cultures. That’s made me quite modern. Also, I am half German, so my thinking is very different,” she added.

Directed by Piyush Jha, “Sikandar” released Friday and has got mixed reviews. In the film, Ayesha plays protagonist Parzaan Dastur’s best friend Nasreen.

'Ravana'- Film has been landed in trouble!

The troubles don’t seem to end for Mani Ratnam’s latest film, Ravana. The film has landed in trouble with the Ahmednagar forest officials who have filed a complaint against 11 people for illegally setting up a film set inside the jungle for the shoot.

The officials have also confiscated one JCB, and four tractors from the location.

Ravana which stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead also made headlines last month when an elephant near Athirapally waterfalls in Kerala got wild and killed its owner and terrorised the star couple by blocking the main road.

Priyanka Chopra was decided to give herself a break after getting frequently ill!

Not once in six years has Priyanka Chopra let her guard down. She has worked tirelessly all the time to reach for the coveted top spot.

Now that she has done that, she has decided to give herself a little treat for it. She left for a vacation to an undisclosed place out of the country on Wednesday night with a few close friends and cousins

. Her parents are expected to join her in a few days. They will be away for around 20 days.

Priyanka decided to give herself a break after getting frequently ill, due to exhaustion. Her parents advised her to take some time off and now that Kaminey is doing well, she took off for a holiday to the East.

She has taken a few short breaks before, but this is the first time she will be gone for more than two weeks. Priyanka admitted to needing the holiday and listening to her doctors, that is, her parents.

Salman Khan & Vivek Oberoi is shooting the film ‘Guzaarish’-Mehboob Studios!

There was so much negativity about me-John Abraham!

Eight weeks after the release of NEW YORK, John Abraham is letting bygones be bygones and is willing to forgive and forget the past when there were uncharacteristic remarks being made about him. With rejection coming someone’s way in the earlier days, it is natural to have bitterness set in over a period of time, isn’t it?

"No, I have actually never been bitter. Instead I have only tried to be as humble as possible, put my head down and work hard. I guess the result is a film like NEW YORK. I hope to be doing many more such performance oriented films. I work for appreciation more than anything else and I guess my time has started now", says John in a soft tone.

He adds, "The film helped me in this way that today even those people from the industry are calling me who have never done that before. I am not holding any grudges though; what’s the point in doing that", reasons John.

Meanwhile, he is investing a lot of himself for his under production 1-800 LOVE which is being directed by Abbas Tyrewala of JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA fame. The film is produced by Madhu Mantena of GHAJINI fame.

"This is yet another special film for me", says John, "We can’t go wrong with the film as we have made it 200% sure that we have got everything right on the writing and the pre-production stage itself. John can’t be seen resting though. Before the end of year, he would have one more of his films hitting the screens. It is David Dhawan directed HOOK YA CROOK which is currently aiming for a 11th December release.

A UTV Motion Pictures production, HOOK YA CROOK also stars Genelia D’Souza, Kay Kay Menon, Shreyas Talpade and Sharad Kapoor with a special appearance by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film is set in a prison and revolves around a cricket match played among the inmates.

Director N Chandra is approached the Anupam Kher for the particular role-Short time!

Director N. Chandra and actor Anupam Kher have rekindled their friendship of Tezaab-days with the film Yeh Mera India. It’s a social thriller that deals with several sensitive issues prevailing in modern India.

When N Chandra approached Anupam for the role, Anupam told him at the first place to narrate the film in five minutes and only then he will decide to go for the whole 50 minutes of narration. In five minute of narration N. Chandra convinced him to do the film. Apparently Anupam was so sure of the film that he did not feel the necessity to go for the rest 50 minutes of narration. “I agreed to do the film instantly because it dealt with humanity and I also believed in N Chandra that he will craft it beautifully,” he reasons.

Apart from Anupam Kher, it also stars Perizaad Zorabian, Purab Kohli, Rajpal Yadav, Smiley Suri, Rajit Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, Seema Biswas, Milind Gunaji, and Sarika who are equally delighted to be part of Y.M.I.

A source reveals, “Recently, when Govinda met up with his favorite director David Dhawan, he was surprised to hear Dhawan singing huge praises of John. Dhawan is working with John in his upcoming flick, Hook Ya Crook.

David appeared very impressed with John and his spontaneity, and couldn’t stop gushing about him to Govinda. That’s when Govinda got curious about John’s work in the movie. He wanted to see for himself why Dhawan was so impressed with John.

Since Deepika Padukone has been working non-stop post her illness, the cast and the crew of ‘Housefull’ has decided to give the actress a week long rest. Deepika has made a good use of her resting period by calling her parents from Bangalore to London as she hardly finds time to visit them in Bangalore.

Says a source, “Since the cast involves many other permutations and combinations between Akshay and the rest of the cast they decided to let Deepika rest it out for a week and do scenes with the rest of the cast.”

"My Dad, Mum and sister were here for a few days. I got to spend some much-needed time with them.I hardly get to visit them in India. They visit me in Mumbai more than I visit them in Bangalore. Samir Aftab best known for his movie KRANTIVEER (under production) has a bunch of releases lined up for this year. From working with Raj Kanwar as Assistant Director to lead actor in two movies CHAND SA ROSHAN CHEHRA and SUNZARA; he has come a long way and constantly evolving.

The year for Samir starts off with a cameo in SHADOW which is scheduled to release this Friday. The cameo also includes a dance number with Saif Ali Khan’s ex flame Rosa Castellano.

For the first time in the history of Hollywood, a career recognition, honorary citizenship and official Resolution was bestowed upon Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat, by the City of Los Angeles.

In the City Hall Council Chambers, Councilmember Jose Huizar presented Mallika the honor to hearty applause from those assembled, citing her career achievements and charitable efforts.

Mallika Sherawat received the prestigious honor in front of members of the entertainment industry, friends, family and fans during the ceremony at Los Angeles City Hall on the eve of Indian Independence Day.

In a packed media room after the ceremony, Mallika answered questions from reporters, signed autographs for fans and took pictures with her guests and with city politicians.

Mallika accepted the Resolution, which was signed by the Mayor and all City Councilmembers, before giving an inspiring speech to numerous rounds of applause throughout the hall.

After the City Hall event, Mallika was hosted for brunch in an historic downtown Los Angeles area.

Talking about the honor Mallika said, Thank you. I am deeply, and humbly, grateful for this grand honor. And a very special thank you to Councilmember Huizar, Mayor Villaragosa, Mayor Riordan, and all the City Council.

Miss World Aishwarya Rai does not have swine flu-Big B!

Dismissing reports in some sections of the media that his daughter-in-law and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai has swine flu, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has said Aishwarya’s health has improved and is much better and will be ready to resume work in a day or two.

”No, she does not have swine flu,” Amitabh Bachchan said on his blog on Monday, thus clarifying reports in this regard appearing in the media.

Commenting on media reports about Aishwarya having swine flu, the superstar said, ”Little mention of Aishwarya’s indisposition has created a media hurricane. Headlines screaming she has swine flu have appeared along with other national news. The paucity of sensationalist material has created a herd mentality towards interpreting that gentle whiff of air into a storm of immense proportions. Getting the news out first has taken precedence over research and authentication.”

Talking about Aishwarya’s health, he said, ”She has improved and is much better and ready to resume work by tomorrow or the day after.”

In a previous blog, Amitabh Bachchan, who was in Singapore to look after his friend and Samajwadi Party Chief Amar Singh, had expressed concern over Aishwarya’s health.

”Aishwarya has taken ill and is down with chest infection and flu-like symptoms. She had a high fever yesterday but is settling down today. It’s worrying to be so far away from children and not be there to look after them. Yes, they are mature and married and responsible, but children will always remain children !”

Aamir Khan - next film is based on Chetan Bhagat’s story!

After Hello, this is second film to be based on Chetan Bhagat’s novels. Hello was based Bhagat’s best seller One Night in Call Center. Aamir’s 3 Idiots is based on Bhagat’s Five Point Someone.

The film would be directed by Raj Kumar Hirani. 3 Idiots happens to be the working title for the film. The story based on the IITians lives is going to cast Aamir Khan, Sarman Joshi, R. Madhavan, Boman Irani and Kareena Kapoor.

The film is being produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who has also produced by Munn Bhai film which were also directed by Hirani.

Even Shah Rukh wanted to produce the film initially. Oops, an Aamir Khan flick to be produced by Shah Rukh, hard to digest!

Bipasha Basu will appear as a celebrity -British TV show!

If reports are to be believed, Bipasha Basu will appear as a celebrity judge for a television show in the UK.

Mid-Day reports that the dusky beauty from Bollywood has been positively considering the offer since it is a prominent reality show there. What’s more, if Bipasha Basu does sign the deal, she will get to rub shoulders with some of the most prominent British celebrities there.

"Bipasha is quite keen to be one of the judges on the show which has well-known British names. She is looking at making a mark in the international arena now. As she is extremely articulate, the producers of the show came up with the offer," the paper quoted a source as having said.

Apparently the shows organisers hope to rope in additional Asian audience with Bipasha Basu’s presence as a celebrity judge.

While Bipasha remained unavailable for comment, her agency refused to comment on the matter.

However the source told the paper, "Till everything is on paper, the it is mum’s the word for Bipasha who feels this will be a big high for her career and to get noticed in the West."

Meanwhile, the Mid-Day also reports that Bipasha Basu will host the Indian version of America’s Next Top Model, which will be produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Production.

It’s great to see NEW YORK still chugging along!

Over the weekend gone by, NEW YORK completed 50 days at the box office. This makes it third consecutive success for Yash Raj Films after BACHNA AE HASEENO and RAB NE BANA DI JODI (if one keeps ROADSIDE ROMEO aside).

In its last seven weeks, NEW YORK has netted over 46 crores just in India, hence earning itself a bona fide HIT box office status. The film has managed to sustain itself over a period of time in spite of the fact that there has been record breaking opening by films like KAMBAKKHT ISHQ and LOVE AAJ KAL which ate away a major share of business over the weekends that they released. Still, it is immense audience appreciation and terrific critical acclaim that the film received that made NEW YORK sail smooth in spite of such huge competition.

Also, unlike so many films that have done maximum business in the first weekend and have only tapered down as weeks have progressed, NEW YORK has taken nominal drops and stayed on to gain consistent moolah from the box office.

Hollywood film "Before The Rains"-will be hit the screen on August 14!

Hollywood art film ”Before The Rains” is all set to woo the Indian audiences. A Merchant-Ivory production, the film marks the English language debut of Indian director Santosh Sivan. Set in the 1930′’s southern India, against the backdrop of a growing nationalist movement, the film features Bollywood’’s outstanding actors Nandita Das and Rahul Bose.

Both these actors have proved their mettle in various commercial and art movies. Nandita Das plays the lead character of Sanjani, a village girl who defies the traditon and culture and falls in love with a white man played by British actor Linus Roache.

“Apart from being female lead, lot of the story revolves around Sanjani. Its a very interesting character because in 1930′’s to be able to defy your tradition, your culture, your society and fall in love with a white man and to have the strength to have that conviction of being in love, she is a strong character,” said Das.

Rahul Bose also plays a central character of an idealistic young Indian man named T K in the movie. He is torn between his ambitions for the future and his loyalty to the past when people in his village learn of an affair between his British boss Moores (Linus Roache) and Sanjani (Nandita Das).

The film has been shot meticulously after ample research. “This is a Hollywood film, but it is an art film. When we were making the film, all the systems were Americanised. This movie had a lot of detailing,” said Bose.

The movie has been selected for a host of international film festivals like, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival, the Pusan Film Festival and the Dubai Film Festival.

”Before The Rains” has already won three awards at the Houston WorldFest for Best Picture, Best Cinematography and Best Music.The film will hit the screen across India on August 14. (ANI)

And because of that it’s being touted that Bollywood’s much awaited film of 2009, the Shahid-Priyanka starrer KAMINEY may face the force, as the release date for the film was planned much in advance considering a four-day long weekend.

However UTV Motion Pictures is unfazed with the current adverse situation and are confidently going ahead with their dear project and very well prepared to fight the same.

An official comment from UTV Motion Pictures on the release of their forthcoming movie KAMINEY, ’’There is immense buzz and anticipation around the release of KAMINEY which is clearly one of the most awaited films of the year. There is already a heavy rush for Paid Previews of the film nationwide and in US/ UK & Dubai. We are going ahead with the release of the film this Friday across the country and worldwide in 1200 screens. This will not include the markets of Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai following the directive given by the government. We look forward to release the film in these regions as soon as the cinemas are given permission to re-open. Being a corporate we are fully insured for the 2 day delay we are facing in these markets’’ Says Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures.

The three actors shooting for their respective films- 'Mehboob'!

On Sunday, Salman Khan proved that he is Bollywood’s coolest dude. A fact further highlighted by the fact that the situation he was in was enough to give the heebie-jeebies to the most seasoned playboys.

On one side, there was his former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai, whom he had such a torrid affair with that people can’t stop talking about it even today. And on the other side there was Ranbir Kapoor, who has been on more than one occasion linked with Salman’s longtime girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. To everyone’s surprise, Salman was not the least bit perturbed.

The three actors were shooting for their respective films at Mehboob Studios all day on Sunday. While Salman was there for Veer, Aishwarya was shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish and Ranbir was shooting for Yash Raj

Suddenly, the unit of Veer heard that Aishwarya was shooting a stone’s throw away. They, of course, were waiting with bated breath for Salman to lose his cool. However, preferring to stick to his chilled out demeanour, Salman was sprawled on comfy chairs outside his vanity van and was seen chatting with everyone in between shots. He refused to be disconcerted by the fact that Ms Rai, oops! Mrs Abhishek Bachchan, was around.

Surprisingly, Salman stayed away from the sets of Guzaarish even though Aishwarya was shooting with Bhansali, with whom Salman shares an excellent rapport.

While Salman gave a miss to Aishwarya, he showered all his attention on Ranbir. Salman and Ranbir decided to catch up by chatting for almost an hour while taking a break from their respective shoots. If sources are to be believed, the two boys also had lunch together. Salman continued to shoot till 1am for Veer. (TOI)

Tussar Kapoor says that there is nothing like success in formula-'Life Partner'

Life Partner is doing well in promos and surely looks like an easy comedy flick. The actors don’t want to get into conclusion too fast. The plot is about young people, love, marriage and its problems and promises to be a hilarious show.

Tussar Kapoor is however not putting his foot down to expect a box office success for Life Partner. He acted in yesteryear’s Golmaal Returns, which was a huge hit. Tussar however doesn’t seem to believe in any success formula for the time being.

Tussar informs “See, there is nothing like success formula. Till a few months back everyone said that since the comic genre is succeeding, let’s make a comedy and we would have a hit in hands. Then we saw so many comedies also failing left, right and centre. You can’t be sure about anything.”

Then he goes on the add “One can mainly concentrate on making a good film, promote it well, get a branding in place and leave it for the audiences to decide. Saying anything else in advance would be making an announcement too soon.”

But anyways, no harm in keep your finger’s crossed Tussar!

Kareena Kapoor is look different genres-'Kurbaan'

She has played a prostitute, a bubbly girl-next-door and the ultimate glamour queen in her almost decade-long career, but Kareena Kapoor says ’Kurbaan’ has given her the opportunity to sink her teeth into one of the best roles in her career.

’I am so confident that in ’Kurbaan’, audiences will take to my character in a big way,’ said Kareena, who looks forward to playing a variety of roles across different genres of films.

’Especially after ’Kambakkht Ishq’, they would see a different me in the film,’ Kareena told IANS.

A Karan Johar production, ’Kurbaan’ is directed by first time director Rensil D’Silva and has terrorism as its background.

’The girl’s role is very strong in ’Kurbaan’ and I have worked really hard on my performance. I’m expecting a lot from the film,’ said the actress, who has won critical acclaim for her performance in ’Dev’ and ’Omkara’.

Kareena is paired with boyfriend Saif Ali Khan in ’Kurbaan’, which also stars Vivek Oberoi, Dia Mirza, Kirron Kher and Om Puri in principal roles.

The actress says she is once again expecting accolades from critics for her performance in the film.

’Well frankly, this is one film where I am expecting both box-office success and huge critical acclaim. The film is extremely well made and, to add to that, quite topical,’ she said confidently.

With music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Salim-Sulaiman, ’Kurbaan’ is aiming for a November release.

For Kareena, 2009 would be an eventful year as it would also see the release of Rajkumar Hirani’s ’3 Idiots’, where she is paired opposite Aamir Khan, and debutant director Prem R. Soni’s ’Main Aur Mrs. Khanna’ with Salman Khan.

After being in the industry for close to a decade, doesn’t she aspire for more awards?

’See, ever since I began my career, I have always maintained that I want to be a star actress. I should give the kind of confidence to filmmakers that I can carry off any role confidently. Whether it is a Geet (’Jab We Met’) or a Dolly (’Omkara’), Simrita (’Kambakkht Ishq’) or the character I play in ’Kurbaan’ - I am mixing it up all.

’For me, work is like a passion and when I do a film, I don’t really think of commercial gains or awards. What is most important for me is to be engaged in some quality stuff. I sign a film because I like to enact the character that I have been offered. If box office success and awards come then, well, it’s great,’ she said.

Sheena Shahabadi says that I am a lot like- 'Mahee'!

As Teree Sang released a hatke story, people have been eager to know about the lead actors in the film. Ruslaan and Sheena, the lead actors of the film are young and energetic.

Sheena Shahabadi who happens to be the daughter of Sadhana Singh, of Nadiya ke paar fame. The young actress chose Teree Sang to be her launch vehicle knowing pretty well that the film doesn’t actually have a regular Bollywood theme.

Sheena identifies her self with the character she plays with plays in the film and says “I am a lot like Mahee. If I commit a mistake, I take responsibility for it. So, apart from the pregnancy part, I completely identify with the character.”

She adds, “As for playing the part of a pregnant girl, I would consult my mom because an actor has to be a good observer. It’s tough to play the part of a pregnant, teenage girl who doesn’t really know how painful it is. So it was very challenging.”

Sheena seems to have learnt the trick of the trade. She is also full of praise for her Satish Kaushik and Ruslaan. She also denies the film being copied from Hollywood flick Juno.
