Slumdog Millionaire stars Dev Patel and Freida Pinto have made it to US magazine People’s list of ’100 Most Beautiful People’. The two are rumoured to be dating each other. The reports were confirmed when the pair was recently caught enjoying an intimate lunch date in Israel, where Pinto, 24, is filming on location.Patel ’s mum has also confirmed her son’s off-screen romance with Pinto.

Here’s a look at the other beautiful people on the list. 

The ’Most Beautiful People’ list has been topped by Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate, who won admiration for her fight against breast cancer, reports People.

Michelle Obama, who has achieved celebrity status and wowed the world as a fashion icon, made it to the list for the first time.

High School Musical star Zac Efron and Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson, who have huge teen girl following, also joined the list.

Pattinson’s vampire-loving co-star Kristen Stewart, teen music idols Nick and Joe Jonas made the coveted list for the first time.

People regulars George Clooney and Halle Berry made the list once again.

And how can any list be complete without the gorgeous Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt?

Amitabh Bachchan unhappy with the prospects of Teen Patti

Last week Bollywood’s ageing superstar Amitabh Bachchan through his blog lambasted the crew and unit of his in production film Teen Patti while they were shooting in London along with Sir Ben Kingsley.

Apparently he was not too happy with the way shooting was conducted and also shocked to see the unprepared unit in the last shooting stint of the film which was underway in London.

He then rightfully vented out his anger on his personal blog a couple of days back and what he said was rightly picked up by the media as he very hardly speaks badly about the projects he shoots for.

Now if sources close to the film are to be believed, then there is some truth in the lashing out shown by the Bachchan.

“Apparently, when the film first went on the sets the budget of the film was a mere 12 crores and now after shooting for over a year the film has crossed the budget of 20 crores. This is still only the principal shooting cost. The other costs and overheads are not even considered right now.

The higher the ambition the more careful these filmmakers should be especially when they are dealing with men who stand as examples of sincerity and dedication.

Big B is perhaps unhappy with the prospects of his film going over budget as no star would like to be in such a situation where his film is finding it difficult to recover its huge making cost especially in the present times of recession.” claim sources.

Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan had a rift

Our sources reveal that, “The father and son had a rift. It started with Hrithik ’s closeness to Barbari Mori, following which Sussanne left the house. Roshan Sr loves his daughter-in-law and made it clear that he was on her side and that he’d have nothing to do with Hrithik if he didn’t come to his senses. The tension which was apparent in home soon percolated to the sets.”

A source says, “The cracks in the father-son relationship have been visible for quite some time now, to everyone on the sets of Kites. They are having professional differences too. While Rakesh Roshan is known to be a good director, Hrithik seems to have his own take on Kites and has ignored his dad’s counsel a few times. Things aren’t well between director Anurag Basu the producer Rakesh too. The film is being edited and everyone wants his own say. Rakesh sit on the edit, after which Basu comes in and makes his own edit. Meanwhile, Hrithik has been going to the edit studio with his inputs and ensures they’re carried out. The actor is also cutting the film’s promos.”

After this paper carried the Hrihik and his wife Sussanne Roshan’s split the father and son spoke for the first time in months that too because his mother Pinky Roshan passed the phone to her husband. But things still haven’t returned to normalcy, which is why the actor hasn’t returned home.

A lecture on safe sex for truck drivers turned into a media circus because Gere -- who is an international ambassador on spreading awareness about HIV AIDS -- planted an enthusiastic kiss on Shilpa’s cheek. Aishwarya Rai to star with her ex lover Vivek Oberoi again

History repeats itself. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is going to star with her ex lover Vivek Oberoi again. The film in question is titled, ‘Tansen’ to be directed by Satish Kaushik and to be produced by Rajshri Productions. It will also have Abhishek Bachchan and Anil Kapoor in the pivotal role.

‘Tansen’ is said to be one of the costliest film to be ever made in India. The film is based on the real life incident of Mughal court singer. The main role of ‘Tansen’ will be played by Abhishek Bachchan . The film will be shot in Bangkok first and then in Australia and New Zealand.

As the cast and the crew have been decided, the shooting of the film will be commenced from next month.

Himesh Reshammiya completely given up eating sweets

Himesh Reshammiya , who is quite positive about proving a point all over again with his upcoming films as an actor, had completely given up eating sweets for last few months. Though he carries a sweet tooth, during the shoot of his under production film ‘Ishk Unplugged’ he made a strong resolve that he wouldn’t touch any of them till the shoot got over.

Well, true to his promise, he stayed miles away from sweets during a non-stop 65 days schedule of the film, only to gobble up a dozen odd pieces of ‘Kaju Katri’, his favourite sweet, on the last day of the film’s shoot.

Shah Rukh Khan has packed off his desi cheerleaders

Super star Shah Rukh Khan , also the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team has packed off his desi cheerleaders who were selected through the much hyped dance reality show on NDTV Imagine called Knights and Angels.

What was extremely disheartening for these girls was that they never got a single opportunity to showcase what they were selected for.

Sources reveal, “The six girls - Sanna, Samyukta, Ritika, Ananya, Sunanda and Rupali had flown to IPL venue country, South Africa on April 15th but then were told that they won’t be given a chance to perform as the people there wanted only South African cheerleaders on the field.

They haven’t been given any money as yet as well and have been made to sign a one year contract which states that financial help would be considered only after Shah Rukh is back to Mumbai from South Africa on April 30th.

It is not SRK’s fault that he could not allow them to cheer for any of his team matches. He tried his best to get things worked but simply could not. However, these girls were taken to watch three of the KKR matches in Cape Town.”

Akshay Kumar decided to take a completely different approach

Though Akshay Kumar seems to have taken a backseat after a hat-trick of flops and the very recent “obscene” turn of events but his former actress wife Twinkle Khanna it seems has decided to take a completely different approach to tackle the difficulties and face the outcry if there is any.

We are seeing her being a regular to her Bandra store, “The White Window’ almost every day now. She is nowadays often seen sitting on the patio with her guests sipping on coffee and chatting up with them.

Now till just few weeks back Twinkle was always a reluctant visitor to her own store and could hardly be seen making a visit leave alone sitting outside by the fear of getting mobbed.

Also it also seems that the turn of events have given her a new perspective on life and friendships as she’s trying to mend her bridges with long lost friends and the main amongst them being Bobby Deol’s wife, Tanya.

Both being interior designers, were once upon a time very close friends as were their hubbies. They had in fact even collaborated on several projects together. Tanya even stocked her designs at Twinkle’s store till the time they had acrimonious fallout.

No one really knew what had happened but the things soured between the two, and their acrimony affected their husband’s relationships too.

But now Twinkle decided to make peace and sent her version of olive branch to Tanya in the form of some of her latest designs she wanted Mrs. Deol to look at and give a feedback on.

Tanya was pleasantly surprised by the gesture and called Twinkle promptly. Not sure she loved those designs but the two have certainly made up.

Feroz Khan spend nearly three days with his beloved animals

Bollywood film industry faced a grave loss with the death of the veteran actor Firoz Khan who died after fighting a prolonged battle with cancer. He had been undergoing treatment for cancer at Mumbai.

Firoz Khan was known for his love for fashion, style and love for animals. While at the hospital a few days back, Feroz expressed his wish to visit his farmhouse in Bangalore to be with his pet animals, mainly horses and dogs.

Owing to his poor health condition, the doctors were reluctant to give him the permission for a long journey. However, son Fardeen understood his father’s desire and as he waited for his dad’s condition to improve, he made arrangements for a special chartered flight to Bangalore. Finally, last week, when the doctors gave Feroz the go-ahead for a short trip, Fardeen, accompanied by nurses, flew his father to the farmhouse.

Feroz Khan got to spend nearly three days at his farm with his beloved animals before he breathed his last after midnight on Sunday.

Lindsay Lohan interested in none other than Leonardo DiCaprio

Looks like Lindsay Lohan has had enough of women, for she is now turning her attention to men, and the latest guy she’s interested in is none other than Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio.

The ‘Mean Girls’ star, who has recently spilt with lesbian lover Sam Ronson, was spotted flirting with the ‘Titanic’s actor before getting up to dance in front of him.

Lindsay spotted Leo at Hollywood hotspot My House on April 15, and indulged in cosy chat with the 34year-old star.

“As soon as Lindsay saw Leo she was like a bee to honey,” British tabloid The Sun quoted a source as saying.

“She was going for the big catch and when she spotted him in a dark corner of the club she headed straight for him.

“She quickly monopolised his conversation and made sure she had him all to herself.

“Lindsay is a sharp tac. She wasn’t wasting her time chatting up small fish. She seemed interested in the gents with deeper pockets, probably because her career is on a downward trajectory.

“The pair were cosied up together deep in conversation. She definitely tickled his fancy,” the source added.

Later in the night, after a few drinks and more of flirting, Lindsay took to the dance floor to show off her moves.

The eyewitness said: “It was a bit shocking when she got up and started dancing in front of him but he seemed to be enjoying it.”

DiCaprio  has earlier dated supermodels Helena Christensen and Gisele Bundchen, and he is currently going around with Israeli catwalk star Bar Rafaeli.

Before Sanjay Nirupam was fielded as the Congress I candidate to fight BJP’s veteran Ram Nayak for this year’s Lok Sabha elections, the Congress was very keen to put up the much-in-the-news Priyanka Chopra in place of Govinda.

Neha Dhupia has paired opposite with Vinay Pathak

She also opted for a red colored hair because she noticed that all those back dancers that she had met had that color. She also observed that most back row dancers had a habit of chewing gums while waiting for the shot on the sets. So, she adopted that style for her character too.

Australian filmmakers looking financial partners In India

International interest in India’s Rs.100 billion ($2 billion) film industry is surging. After Hollywood giants, Australian filmmakers in search of innovative stories and financial partners are looking to India .

They have already launched a bunch of India-centric movies like ’The Waiting City’, ’An Indian Summer’ and ’Bollywood Down Under’.

’We are looking at India-centric, good Australian stories as these category storylines will aid in world marketing,’ Anupam Sharma, founder and director of Australian production house Films and Casting Temple, told IANS via email.

Sharma clarified that he wasn’t investing in Indian movies, but added that Australian filmmakers would surely be interested in co-productions with Indian producers as well.

’We are not investing in Indian films. We are developing India-centric international films for the global market. We are hoping to utilise the combination producer offset available in Australia with the 18 percent growth in Indian film market and the worldwide popularity currently being enjoyed by India-centric films. So we are definitely aiming for co-production projects with our Indian counterparts,’ said Sharma, who is also a filmmaker.

That British filmmaker Danny Boyle’s India-centric ’Slumdog Millionaire’ went on to win eight Oscars is also one of the reasons for increasing international interest in India.

Australian collaborative films centred on India are in various stages of development, including projects by leading Australian producers like Bill Bennett, Anupam Sharma, John Winter, Jim McElroy and David Wood.

’The Waiting City’ by Claire McCarthy, about an Australian couple adopting an Indian, is the first Australian film shot wholly in India and is set to release later this year, reported Australian Financial Review.

Sharma is working on quite a few India-centric ventures.

’I’m co-producing director Bill Bennett’s film, which is an on-the-edge thriller set in the dusty, parched canvas of north India. I’m also working on other co-productions with India-centric stories like ’An Indian Summer’, ’Family Unit’, ’Bollywood Down Under’ and a feature-length documentary titled ’Bollywood Bazaar’,’ said Sharma.

Australian producers are also keen to establish a co-production treaty with India to enable co-investment from each country to happen more easily, said Geoffrey Brown, executive director of Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA).

’In this regard, there is some good news. Our Foreign Minister Stephen Smith announced last week that he had approved the opening of negotiations for a co-production treaty between our two countries,’ Brown told IANS in an email interview.

But unlike Hollywood firms, which have co-produced Bollywood  films like ’Chandni Chowk To China’ and ’Saawariya’, Australian filmmakers are not keen on investing in typical Indian movies.

’Australians are very unlikely to invest in Indian films without some Australian component. Our producers are looking to make films with stories that work for both the countries in all genres. Comedies, social issue films, masala, romance and thrillers seem the most likely genres to begin with. There are also some wonderful documentary series to be made in India also,’ Brown explained.

Last year, a delegation of Australian producers attended the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to discuss future co-productions.

Nina Lath Gupta, managing director of India’s National Film Development Corporation, said over phone from Mumbai: ’This primarily was to establish contacts ... They didn’t come with any projects. They just wanted to explore Indian markets.’

Australian filmmakers haven’t set a cap on the budget for proposed co-productions with Indian filmmakers as of now.

’No set budgets, but we would always have to be mindful of attracting an audience that could ensure recovery of the film’s budget for all investors,’ said Brown.

The Australian Financial Review also stressed in an article in February that a major impediment to filmmaking in India is the absence of a co-production treaty.

’There is very little government handouts in India, which has been the argument against it,’ Winter, who is producing two Indian-centric films, was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

Lath Gupta said: ’In foreign countries, governments give grants but in India, a vast majority of films are being made by private producers. As far as a co-production treaty is concerned, I can’t say anything as it falls under the ministry.’

Actor Feroz Khan passed away at his farmhouse

Bollywood actor Feroz Khan on Monday lost his battle with cancer and passed away at his farmhouse in Bangalore.

The 69-year-old actor-filmmaker died at 1:30 am at his farmhouse, family sources said. Khan is survived by actor-son Fardeen Khan and daughter Laila Khan.

He was diagnosed with cancer and was being treated at a Mumbai hospital for a long time. His funeral will take place later in the day in Bangalore, sources said.

The actor was born and brought up in Bangalore. The Bollywood actor of yesteryear was known for his hit films of the 70s and 80s which include ’Dharmatama’, ’Qurbani’ and ’Jaanbaz’.

The latest film he featured in was the blockbuster hit Welcome in 2007.

Celina Jaitley flooded with various hate mails and messages

Just recently, Celina Jaitley had expressed her support for the gay community at the re-launch of the magazine for the gay community ‘Bombay Dost’. She had also participated in the Gay Parade in Mumbai and called for the abolition of the laws that treat homosexuality as a crime.

But seems, Celina’s support for homosexuality did not go down well with the people, for the lady has been flooded with various hate mails and messages after the launch party. Some even questioned Celina’s sexuality and wrote that she too is a homosexual.

Katrina Kaif speech in huge crowd of 10,000 people

Katrina Kaif is not only a real beauty but also a real talented actress too. The lady was put to the ultimate litmus test in acting by director Prakash Jha while shooting his film Rajniti in Bhopal. She was given a long speech in chaste Hindi which she had to deliver in front of a huge crowd of 10,000 people. Now, Katrina, who still manages to speak only tooti footi Hinglish, was faced with the mammoth challenge of giving a long bhaashan in shudh Hindi and that too to thousands of people.

Jha, who helped Katrina train in Hindi diction, told a website that the actress was nervous and shaky before giving the shot. But she managed to pull it off.

“Katrina Kaif is such a revelation. She was so nervous giving a speech in front of 10,000 people. After she gave her speech I hugged her on stage and shouted out to the junta, Bhopal ka ticket de de kya?” Jha is quoted as saying.

Bollywood’s hyper B-grade movie

While Mohammad Ajmal Qasab’s trial is underway in Mumbai, our speed-driven Bollywood has already raced ahead with the verdict. In Surender Suri’s next film, titled Total Ten, Ajmal Qasab has already reached his end, one that Mumbai is eager to see, promises its producer. “We have had Qasab hanged at the end,” said Rajan Verma who plays Qasab.

The film, budgeted at a meagre Rs 3 crore, shows the ‘journey’ of Qasab and has all the characters in question. Sudesh Berry plays Vijay Salaskar, Homi Wadia plays Hemant Karkare, Ashok Kulkarni plays Ashok Kamte and Ashish Vidyarthi plays Tukaram Ombale.

The film also has a host of small-time actors playing Qasab’s Pakistani handlers while Aroon Bakshi plays Maulana Masood Azhar. “Every real-life detail has been followed in the film, beginning with their entering Mumbai by boat, surviving on dry fruits, carrying out their operations, etc,” says Verma.

The film has been shot in Mumbai and Pune, and outside the Taj Mahal hotel too. Much of it has been shot on actual locations, following the trail of disaster of 26/11. Verma said that initially he was scared to play Qasab, but was convinced by director Suri who told him the film gives out a strong message against terrorism.

While Total Ten is likely to be the first film to be released on the terror attack, it’s not the only one. Bollywood’s hyper B-grade movie industry is in the throes of churning out at least 15 films on the subject. As for the mainstream, most directors have stayed away after Ram Gopal Varma’s Taj visit fiasco which led to the ouster of then chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Slumdog Millionaire` stars Dev Patel and Freida Pinto have been caught kissing during a romantic night out in Israel.

Rumours that the actors, who played childhood sweethearts in the Oscar-winning movie,
are dating for real began circulating after ’Slumdog’ co-star Anil Kapoor hinted they were an item, reports Contactmusic.

Kapoor said, "When I meet them I feel there is something happening. (I think) this is the beginning of
something exciting happening. They definitely make a great pair. Both of them look very good together."

However, Patel and Pinto have frequently dismissed rumours they are dating.

Pinto said: "We`re not dating," while 18-year-old Patel added, "No, we`re not seeing each other."

However, the British teenager recently visited Israel to see Pinto on the set of her new movie ‘Miral’,
and the pair was later spotted enjoying a few tender moments during a romantic dinner.

With the news about Sachin Tendulkar at the Madame Tussauds just a few days old, speculations are rife as to who the next entrant would be. And media as usual is agog with the buzz that it would most probably be the ’Perfectionist’ Khan, Aamir Khan . Even Bobby Khan, who manages the Bollywood section in London, as well as the Indian franchise of the museum (under Bobby Khan Holdings), has gone on record to say that Aamir would indeed be the first choice. However what everyone conveniently forgot was that Aamir had refused to be waxed when the offer was made to him a year or so back.

Well, those with sharp memories and a keen interest in Bollywood affairs would remember that after the unveiling of Shah Rukh Khan’s statue in London, Aamir Khan was offered to be waxed, and he refused. Sources close to Aamir Khan (read relatives) cited personal beliefs (about being made into statue!) as the reason behind the refusal!

However, it remains to be seen whether Aamir would give in to the temptation this time, and especially if his name comes up in a poll /consensus, as Bobby Khan has planned.

A source close to the unit of Rajniti says, “Prakash Jha is so impressed by Katrina’s work in the movie that he is talking and praising about her to everyone he meets.”

The source further adds that Katrina would be seen in a no makeup look for her upcoming project Rajniti , Katrina is putting a lot of efforts for the movie an that itself speaks volumes for this professional freak. Katrina never made any fuss over she not being able to apply any make up.”

Ratan Jain the producer of “De Dana dan” is short of words praising this star. He says, “It’s a privilege to work with a star like Katrina, her presence on screen is surely very lucky. Most importantly he further adds, “The amount of energy she puts into each scene is impeccable and it’s very difficult to find such thorough professional like her.”

Saif Ali Khan just recently visited Aamir Khan on the sets of his film 3 Idiots in Mumbai. Sources claim, the Chote Nawab who has now turned a producer is trying to safeguard his interest but since Love Aaj Kal which is scheduled for a June end release is his first production he doesn’t want it to get affected by the dispute.

Sources further revealed, “Aamir was pleasantly surprised when Saif visited him as Kareena Kapoor who is also acting in the film wasn’t shooting that day.

But Aamir then made time for Saif that afternoon during lunch and talked to him about the current status on the issue and the stand they are likely to take in the future.

The meeting was said to be highly informative for Saif who left the venue a bit more assured and in hope that things sort out before his film releases.”

Kaminey - the very term that could actually invoke anybody to bash the person mouthing it, also happens to be the name of the much anticipated film that stars Shahid Kapoor alongwith the Priyanka Chopra and directed by the ever so versatile Vishal Bhardwaj.

For many days, after the announcement of the film, not even a single soul got to know of Shahid’s double role in it, a much guarded secret that has now become the USP of the film! So much for irony. The adjoining snap has Shahid in one of his most likeable avatars alongwith Miss Chopra, which has been shot inside of a train.

Well, the news from our reliable sources also has it that the till now chocolate boy Shahid will be seen as someone who is totally absolutely raw, rigid and sturdy!

Not just that, even the locations in which the film has shot have been kept as rustic as possible, which includes local stations, and scarp and junkyards!

Word also has it that in this film, Priyanka  plays an extremely vocal Maharashtrian girl, who believes in making herself heard. If that wasn’t enough, then, hear this one.

Kaminey also marks the ’debut’ of Amole Gupte as the ruthless villain. For starters, Amole is the very name that was in eternal spotlight for quite sometime, courtesy the ’creative differences’ between him and Aamir Khan, during the shoot of Taare Zameen Par.

Kareena Kapoor ’s long time wish has finally come true

Kareena Kapoor ’s long time wish has finally come true. Bebo always wanted to work with director Imtiaz Ali who gave her a huge hit with ‘Jab We Met’ and was quite disappointed when he Deepika Padukone opposite Saif Ali Khan for the actor’s first debut production venture ‘Love Aaj Kal’. It was Imtiaz who brought out the best from the Kapoor girl in ‘Jab We Met’ and so keen was Kareena to work with the director that she insisted that Imtiaz should do the direction of an ad which was offered to her.

So, now Imtiaz has been roped in for that ad which will reportedly be shot in Punjab and will have a setting very similar to the backdrop of ‘Jab We Met’. The supposedly ‘funny, witty and cool’ ad will Kareena dressed up as a feisty Punjabi kudi in salwar-kameez cavorting through the mustard fields.

So, that why they say, if you wish really hard, the wishes do come true!
